As someone who has recently had additional corporate leadership rested on him, this resonates with me. The challenge I have is that I can see the problem, but not the way forward.

Brillaint framing on dashboards vs maps. The distinction between retrospective metrics and live terrain is underutilized in most strategy work. What's interesting is how organizations default to dashboards precisely beacuse they want control, but that same impulse creates the blind spots that erode their position over time.
